You can turn on the fan with an ordinary on-off switch. But please don't connect to a fan control switch or a dimmer switch. How do you re-pair the remote to the fan? 1.

Sure it can be worked with AC power supply 110-220V! But please note this fan can only be used with the receiver and remote control, and can only be connected directly to your home circuit, not connected to a dimmer switch.
